  GPE is pleased to announce the publication of a Special Issue of the Journal that contains the Proceedings from the Global Partners in Education X (GPEX) Conference which was held from May 15^th-17^th, 2017 at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, USA.  This conference was attended by teachers, administrators, technical support personnel, in addition to students all either associated with GPE partner institutions or with an interest in GPE.  The focus of this year’s conference was on the intersection of Global Education and Regional Economic Development therefore this collection of papers based on conference presentations is wide ranging as they cover various topics related to these issues.  Special thanks to all who participated, presented, and submitted papers for this publication.
